Welcome to Knead. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Knead website (getknead.co.za) and the purchase of any products from us. By placing an order or using this site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use this site or purchase our products.

1. About Us

Knead is operated as a sole proprietorship based in South Africa. References to "Knead," "we," "us," or "our" refer to this business. References to "you" or "customer" refer to any person accessing the site or purchasing a product.

2. Products and Intended Use

Knead sells wellness and recovery products, including (but not limited to) the Heated Therapy Massager and Electric Gua Sha. These products are consumer wellness devices, not medical devices. They are intended for general relaxation, muscle recovery, and at-home use by healthy adults.

Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, physiotherapy, or any prescribed treatment.

You must read the full Medical Disclaimer before using any Knead product. The Medical Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.

3. Orders, Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to correct pricing or product description errors and to cancel any order placed at an incorrect price, with a full refund issued.

Orders are confirmed once payment has been successfully received via our supported payment gateways (Payfast, Yoco, or other listed providers). Placing an item in your cart does not reserve stock.

4. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery within South Africa is fulfilled via Aramex. Standard delivery is 10–15 business days from order confirmation. While we make every reasonable effort to meet stated delivery windows, we do not guarantee specific delivery dates and are not liable for delays caused by the courier, customs, or events outside our reasonable control.

5. 90-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer a 90-day satisfaction guarantee on all Knead products. Full terms, including how to claim, what qualifies as a defective product, and what is excluded, are set out in our Return and Refund Policy.

6. Medical Disclaimer

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using any Knead product. By using a Knead product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the terms set out below.

Knead Products Are Not Medical Devices

Knead products — including the Heated Therapy Massager, Electric Gua Sha, and any other wellness device sold by Knead — are consumer wellness products designed for general relaxation, muscle recovery, and at-home self-care. They are not registered medical devices and are not certified to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any medical condition, illness, or injury.

Any benefits described on our website, in our marketing, or in our communications refer to general wellness and comfort — not medical outcomes.

Information provided by Knead, including on our website, product pages, emails, social media, and customer support messages, is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to replace consultation with a qualified medical practitioner.

If you have any concern about your health, a pre-existing condition, or whether a Knead product is suitable for you, consult a registered medical doctor or qualified healthcare professional before use.

Consult Your Doctor Before Use If You

Speak to your doctor before using any Knead product if any of the following apply to you. This list is not exhaustive — if you have any health condition or are taking any medication that may affect your suitability for using a heated or vibrating wellness device, please consult your doctor first.

  • You have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or any implanted electrical or medical device.
  • You are pregnant or trying to conceive.
  • You have a blood-clotting disorder, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or known blood clot, or are taking blood-thinning medication.
  • You have diabetes or any condition that affects skin sensitivity or circulation.
  • You have severe varicose veins, phlebitis, or a circulatory condition.
  • You have recently undergone surgery or have an unhealed wound or recent injury in the area of intended use.
  • You have a skin condition, infection, or area of inflammation at the site of intended use.
  • You have epilepsy or a seizure disorder.
  • You have cancer, are undergoing cancer treatment, or are in remission.
  • You have any neurological condition affecting sensation or movement.
  • You are unsure for any reason whether the product is safe for you to use.

Do Not Use the Product

Do not use any Knead product:

  • On infants, young children, or any person unable to operate the device safely or communicate discomfort.
  • On the face, head, throat, front of the neck, eyes, ears, or genitals.
  • On areas of broken skin, open wounds, fresh bruises, recent scarring, or inflamed tissue.
  • Directly over the heart, kidneys, or any implanted medical device.
  • While sleeping or if you are likely to fall asleep during use.
  • While the device is plugged in or charging.
  • In or near water (bath, shower, pool, or any wet environment).
  • If the device shows visible damage, exposed wiring, or any sign of malfunction.

Stop Using Immediately If

Discontinue use and consult a medical practitioner if you experience any of the following during or after use:

  • Pain, sharp discomfort, or worsening of an existing condition.
  • Skin redness, irritation, burning sensation, blistering, or rash.
  • Dizziness, nausea, fainting, or shortness of breath.
  • Numbness, tingling, or loss of sensation.
  • Any unusual or unexpected reaction.

Use as Intended

Use the product only as described in the user manual and in accordance with the warnings on the product page and in our Terms of Service. Do not exceed the recommended session length of 15 minutes per area. Do not modify the device or use accessories that were not supplied by Knead.

Your Acknowledgement

By purchasing and using a Knead product, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have read and understood this Medical Disclaimer in full.
  • You are responsible for assessing whether the product is suitable for your individual health circumstances, and for consulting a medical practitioner where appropriate.
  • You will use the product only as instructed and within the warnings provided.
  • Knead is not responsible for any injury, harm, or adverse outcome resulting from use of the product in a manner inconsistent with this disclaimer, the warnings on the product page, or the user manual.

7. Warnings and Safe Use (Important)

The following warnings apply to all Knead products and you must read and follow them before use:

  • Do not use any Knead product if you have a pacemaker, implanted medical device, or other electrical implant.
  • Do not use while pregnant without first consulting a qualified medical practitioner.
  • Do not use on open wounds, broken skin, varicose veins, inflamed areas, or over any area where you have a known blood clot, deep vein thrombosis, or recent surgical site.
  • Do not use if you have been diagnosed with a blood-clotting disorder, severe circulatory condition, or are taking blood-thinning medication, without medical approval.
  • Do not use on infants, children, or persons unable to operate the device safely or communicate discomfort.
  • Do not use while the device is charging or connected to a mains power source.
  • Do not submerge the device in water or use it in the bath or shower.
  • Do not use any single area for longer than 15 minutes in one session.
  • Discontinue use immediately if you experience pain, skin irritation, dizziness, or any adverse reaction, and consult a medical practitioner.

These warnings are highlighted in plain language in accordance with Section 49 of the Consumer Protection Act. Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury and may constitute misuse, which affects your rights under these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Knead products are wellness devices for general consumer use, and you assume responsibility for using them in accordance with the warnings, instructions, and Medical Disclaimer provided.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, Knead, its owner, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, emotional distress, or any damages arising from the inability to use the product.
  • Knead's total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to a Knead product, however caused, shall not exceed the purchase price actually paid for that product.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law, including liability under Section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act for harm caused by a defective product, or liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence. This clause does not apply where the harm was caused by your misuse of the product, your failure to follow the warnings and instructions, or use of the product contrary to the Medical Disclaimer.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Knead and its owner from any third-party claims, losses, or damages arising from your misuse of a Knead product, your failure to follow the warnings, instructions, or Medical Disclaimer, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including the Knead name, logo, product images, copy, photography, and design — is owned by Knead or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, copy, or use any of this content for commercial purposes without written permission.

11. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available here. By placing an order, you consent to the processing of your personal information as described in that policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place an order is the version that governs your purchase. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from a Knead product will first be addressed through good-faith communication with our support team at support@getknead.co.za.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud before pursuing court action. Both parties consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

14. Acknowledgement

By placing an order, ticking the "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" checkbox at checkout, or using a Knead product, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms, the Medical Disclaimer, the Return and Refund Policy, and the Shipping Policy.
  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You will use the product only in accordance with the warnings and instructions provided.
